Principal's Message

Principal, Mrs. Anne Marie Landry

Principal's Message

Welcome to the Nichols Elementary School website!  I am proud to introduce myself as the leader of the Nichols Knights!  I am looking forward to partnering with you to ensure that your child feels safe and loved, while being challenged to do his or her very best each and every day this school year.

My leadership focus is:  “To bring out the best in everyone.”  This includes students, teachers, staff, parents, community and myself.  Every decision I make will be considered through this lens to ensure that I am making choices that will facilitate growth. A key component of this is to make sure that every person who enters our building feels that they are safe and loved.  When someone feels safe and loved, opportunities for learning are optimized and everyone can realize their full potential.

Our Mission Statement

At NES, we are a community committed to doing what is best for students in order to maximize success for all.

We believe...

  • each child can be successful
  • in nurturing the whole child
  • in meeting students where they are and moving them forward
  • decisions should be based on what is best for students
  • in creating a safe and positive environment
  • in teamwork
  • that teachers will continue to learn and grow professionally
  • family involvement is critical to success
  • community partnerships are important and crucial
  • students need to be digitally literate

At NES, we put the needs of our students first.  The best way to ensure that the needs of each and every student is met, is for home, school and community to keep communication open and to work together.  Attendance is another key component to school success. With excellent attendance and open and effective communication, we will have an outstanding year, and our students, your children, will thrive.

Please feel free to contact me if you have questions or concerns, or if you want to find out how you can become more involved.

I am humbled and honored to lead Nichols Elementary and to be a part of the Nichols community.  I am excited to be here and I am looking forward to another wonderful year.
