Foundation Reboots Annual Fundraiser

Foundation Logo

The Bullitt County Foundation for Excellence in Public Education hopes a few tweaks to their annual spring fundraiser increases participation and revenue.

After several years of featuring a Kentucky Derby themed gala, Foundation members are going west (but remaining in Bullitt County).

Boots, Boogie and Brew on Friday, April 28th from 6:30-11:00 p.m. at the Paroquet Springs Conference Centre in Shepherdsville will feature a traditional barbecue meal along with a mechanical bull guests can ride, country line dancing lessons, corn hole, beer tastings and a live auction.

“It was time for something different and the Foundation board felt this was worth planning,” member Lou Ann Moore said. “Most people like a good, down home barbecue.”

All proceeds become grant funds Bullitt County Public Schools apply for in a competitive process. During the past five years, well over $50,000 has been awarded.

General admission tickets are $50 each. BCPS employees and spouses can purchase discount tickets for $35 each until Monday, April 17th.

For ticket information, please contact Sherry Gentry at (502) 657-8998 or Sheila Cox at (502) 869-8161.

The Foundation is a non-profit organization whose purpose is to provide enhanced learning opportunities through donations for the education of the students in all the public schools in Bullitt County.
