Summer Reading at PGE

Summer Reading

Be sure to make reading a part of your summer fun!!!  Here are some tips to prevent the summer reading slide.  Prove to me you read all summer and you’ll have a ticket to a popsicle party when we return!!!

  • Make a pledge to read at least 20 minutes each day.  Color in each day that you read on the summer reading calendar on the back of this page.  Feel free to write the title of the book you are reading in the space.  A completed calendar will be your ticket to the popsicle party.

  • Visit the public library each week to check out new books.  I also encourage you to take part in their summer reading program.  See more details by visiting http://www.bcplib.org/kids/kidsprograms.html#summer Have a librarian sign off for your ticket to the popsicle party!

  • Read or research on World Book Online.  Simply go to PGE’s website and click on World Book under the student tab.  Username:  Bullitt  Password:  Bullitt

  • Create something to promote your favorite book or reading.  Instead of using your technology to play games, use it to create!  You might make a song, video, collage, audio recording, stop motion video, your own book...anything! Your creation will be your ticket to the popsicle party!

  • Have someone take a picture of you reading in a cool spot.  I need some new awesome reading pictures to blow up and hang in the library.  Maybe your picture will be one of them!  Email reading pictures to alison.egan@bullitt.kyschools.us.  All reading pictures will be posted on Pleasant Grove’s facebook page and a few will be printed and displayed as posters in the library.  We have some awesome pictures from Summer Reading 2016.  Send a picture and you’ll be invited to the popsicle party when we return to school.

Happy Reading!
