Lisa Lewis is the new Director of Finance for Bullitt County Public Schools following the departure of Denise Smith after 10 years.
“I am beyond excited to be coming back to the Board,” Lewis said. “I am truly humbled by the extraordinary talent within the school system. Not only does Bullitt County have great educators but they also have a strong leadership team.”
Lewis served as district grant writer before joining The Peoples Bank of Mt. Washington. Her background in finance impressed Superintendent Keith Davis.
“I am particularly pleased to have Lisa rejoin our team,” he said. “She did a great job when she was our grant writer and I feel confident that with her strong financial background and focus on service, our taxpayer’s dollars are in excellent hands.”
For 22 years, Lewis worked at Bullitt County Bank/PBI in Shepherdsville as Vice President, Operations Officer, Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) Officer and Privacy Officer.
She then invested three years at Republic Bank in Louisville as Vice President and BSA Officer and feels such keen knowledge from the financial world can assist her new duties.
“Throughout my professional career, I have spent significant time cultivating and building relationships,” Lewis said. “From regulatory compliance to budgeting, the world of finance provided an excellent opportunity for me to develop and enhance my skills in leadership and development.”
Lewis earned a Bachelor of Science degree (graduated with a 3.96 GPA, Summa Cum Laude, and a President’s Cup recipient) along with a Master of Science degree (graduated with a 4.0 GPA, Summa Cum Laude, and a President’s Cup recipient) in Human Resources Leadership from Sullivan University in Louisville.
She is a certified anti-money laundering specialist with a CAMS credential from the Association of Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialists; has a General Banking Diploma from the American Institute of Banking and an Associate in Arts in Business Management from Lindsey Wilson College.
