Transportation:

All transportation changes must be made in writing.  Please remember that all Bus, Car Rider and Walker notes must contain the first and last name of all students and Bus Notes must contain a bus number.   We can not process notes without this information.

When dropping your student off in the mornings or picking them up in the afternoons, please remember that we only allow one line of traffic.  This is for the safety of all of our students.

Volunteers:

Volunteer background checks will be done for the calendar year (January-December) instead of school year (July-June).  This will alleviate delays in having volunteers for the beginning of school and will eliminate the backlog that occurs in Frankfort each August.  If you have already completed a background check this school year, we ask that you complete another form so that we can turn this in for you.  Please come in as soon as possible to complete your background check form.

In the summer of 2012, the process was changed to where the background checks were no longer free to the district. The full charge if a parent goes directly through Frankfort is $20. The state gives the school districts a discount by only charging $10. Due to budget constraints, that cost has to be covered by the volunteer. The policy was updated to where the report is good for two years. We are considering those two years from the date of the report, not July – June or January – December as some Q&A pages indicate. The list is monitored monthly and reminders are sent to the volunteer coordinators to update any expiring reports for volunteers in the school. To clarify, parents/grandparents wishing to eat lunch with their student do not need a background check on file. If a person is attending a classroom or school function, he or she does not need a background check on file. If the person is requesting to chaperone or otherwise supervise a group of students, or volunteer to be essentially on their own in the building, that person should have a current background check on file.

Medications:

Please do not send any kind of medication to school with your child, this includes cough drops.  For the safety of all students, medication must be brought to the office by an adult and the appropriate paperwork completed and signed.
