Digital Driver's License NOW Open DDL

All students in Grades 6th-12th must complete the Digital Driver's License course by September 28th, 2018.  DDL is an online course designed to teach students responsible and appropriate use of technology.

Bullitt County Recognized for ENERGY STAR Schools ENERGY STAR

Bullitt County was recognized for achieving ENERGY STAR certifications for 18 of their schools at the district’s May board meeting.

End-Year Chromebook Collection Chromebook Collection Information

 

Attention ZMS students and parents,

The end of the year is quickly approaching! Students will be required to turn in their Chromebooks and chargers to Mrs. Voight on the following dates: 7th grade May 30, 8th grade May 31/June 1, 6th grade June 4.

According to the Bullitt County Technology expectation contract, Chromebooks must be returned in good condition. Missing devices are $175.  If screens are cracked, that will be a $40 repair fee. More than one key missing will be an $80 repair fee. Missing chargers will be a $17 fee. Fees must be paid before next school year or students will not receive devices. Please note, 8th grade students will not be able to participate in 8th grade activities, including promotion ceremony, if fees are not paid or Chromebooks not turned in. A payment plan can be worked out on a case-by-case basis for all grades. The date of the ZMS Chromebook rollout for the 2018-19 school year will be announced at a later time .

The Bullitt County Board of Education has commissioned a community voice survey to determine strengths and opportunities for the district’s communications and is seeking public comment for the work.

Limited Redistricting Proposal (CORRECTED) for 2018-19

 

The following is a proposal to reduce student crowding at schools in the eastern part of the county, especially Pleasant Grove Elementary and to more effectively utilize classroom space in the northern part of the county, will be submitted to the Board of Education for consideration at its November 27, 2017 regular meeting. See the attached link for the specific proposal and streets that would be affected should this be approved. There is a limited public comment period near the beginning of each regular business meeting of the Board of Education.

Board of Education Passes Resolution for Special Session in Frankfort Moving Forward Logo

By unanimous action, the Bullitt County Board of Education authorized Superintendent Keith Davis to close schools for one day if Gov. Matt Bevin calls a special session concerning pension reform, so that staff members may, if they choose, attend the session and speak with legislators about the public pension issue.

To prepare middle school students for learning in the technology age for both college and their future, BCPS students in grades 6-8 are receiving Chromebooks for the 2017-2018 school year.

Missed the Chromebook Distribution?? Chromebook

During Open House and the first three days of school, paperwork will be sent home for parent and student signatures. Students may pay the fee when the form is returned to school. Chromebooks will be handed out to students when the BCPS tech team transports them to the schools on approximately August 14.

Digital Driver's License

All ZMS students need to complete the 3 hour Digital Driver's License course in order to continue using their Chromebook devices, even if they have bought their own.

All students must get done by September 29th or students will lose access to their accounts.

ZMS Breast Cancer T-shirt Fundraiser

The ZMS cheerleaders are heading up their annual Breast Cancer Awareness shirt fundraiser **A portion of the t-shirt sale proceeds will go toward Breast Cancer Research**!! All orders will be due September 29th! We will have a BlackOut/PinkOut on October 27th for a $1 or more donation that will be donated to Breast Cancer Research in memory of Stacey Henry!!

August 1st Chromebook Party

6th, 7th, and 8th Grade Chromebooks will be distributed on August 1st from 10 AM - 7 PM at NBHS.

Access 24 Chromebook 6th, 7th, 8th Grade Distribution Announcement

On August 1st, 2017, staff will be distributing Chromebooks to all registered 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students, from 10 AM - 7 PM in the North Bullitt High School gym. In order to be issued a Chromebook, students and a parent or guardian will need to bring the $35 Access 24 technology fee in either check or cash and parent identification. (You are encouraged to come early in the day to avoid more crowded times in the late afternoon / evening.) Consistent with Board policy 09.15, no child shall be denied full participation in any educational program due to an inability to pay for, or rent, necessary instructional resources. Important Immunization Changes for 2018-2019 School Year Immunization

Starting July 1, 2018, all students in grades Kindergarten - 12 are required to receive updated immunizations and provide new certificates to schools as part of Kentucky’s amended schedule.

Important Immunization Changes for 2018-19

Important immunization changes are outlined in 902 KAR 2:060 for 2018-2019 school year.  Please note the following changes in order for your child to attend school:  

  • Effective July 1, 2018:  ALL students in kindergarten through twelfth grade must show proof of having received two doses of Hepatitis A vaccine to attend school.  These 2 shots must be given 6 months apart.  Please DON’T DELAY in getting these started.  Students will need to have the first dose before January and the second dose by July 1st.  This is a NEW school requirement.  Therefore, if your child has already been vaccinated, the school will need the certifications showing proof in order to enroll your child for the 2018-2019 school year.
