Bullitt Central High School Door Decorating Contest
During college application week at Bullitt Central High School, various doors were decorated. Superintendent Keith Davis was one of the judges who viewed each entry as part of a competition which was sponsored by the Youth Service Center. Teacher Shelley Westwood's door featured the University of Kentucky. The week of Nov. 16-20 was college application week at Bullitt Central and the goal was having every senior apply to at least one college. Superintendent Keith Davis judges teacher Angela Marshall's door featuring St. Catharine College. Youth Service Center Coordinator Christy Hardin and assistant Nicole Brock encouraged all teachers to decorate their classroom door. The classroom door of teacher Kimberly Ludwig heralded Georgetown College. The Carl Perkins Vocational Training Center was represented with 3-D pieces representing careers such as... Cosmetology, custodial/building mantenance... Auto lube and detail... ...and industrial truck operator and child care development. DeVry University. Western Kentucky University. Morehead State. Teacher Jessica Sturgeon featured the University of Louisville on her classrom door. Decor from the University of Alabama-Birmingham included an image of teacher Nicole Klein playing soccer for the Blazers. Northern Kentucky University was the theme for teacher Roderick Pack's classroom door. Teacher Bryan McKinley let everyone know about Indiana University. This door featured a little of both Bullitt Central ad Spalding University. The University of the Cumberlands. Bowling Green University featured a lot of cards with various facts about the college. Teacher Donna Schmidt had six million reasons to recommend Eastern Kentucky University to students. Chef Michael LaFlair brought culinary skills from the University of Alabama to the table (and his classroom door!) Teacher Beau Johnston appears to support Los Angeles but it is actually U of L and Alabama. Teacher Matt Kuehn promoted Sam Houston State University of Texas. Murray State University. Teacher Tiphanie Peak posted her actual diploma from Murray State University on her classroom door. Teacher Stephanie Porter featured Bellarmine University on her classroom door. Teacher Jennifer Hallinan focused on Franklin College. Teacher and coach Tye Lawson put Oregon University on his classroom door. Teacher William Jamison featured Asbury College on his classroom door.
