Summer Gifted and Talented Camp for Elementary Students
Elementary school students participated in a summer gifted and talented camp in July at the Bullitt Central High School auditorium Mia Rocchio, teaching associate for the Kentucky Shakespeare Festival, was the camp coordinator. As each day started, she led campers through exercises involving their movement and... ...their mouths! Campers included Nalani Harvey, Halie Harvey, Isabelle Kuntz, Katelynn White, Reagan Manco, Sydney Forman, Liam Corbin, David Searcy and Julia Searcy.
Campers enjoy a fast paced competition involving hand-eye coordinator. Campers were assigned for the William Shakespeare play The Tempest. The purpose of the camp was to connect to the breadth of Shakespeare work through oratory and dance. Actors found imaginative ways to create props! Camp Coordinator Mia Rocchio takes notes as students perform The Tempest. Elementary students perform a scene from The Tempest. Following each day's play rehearsal, students took notes on strengths and areas for improvement.
