Shepherdsville Elementary School Project Fit America Celebration
Shepherdsville Elementary School celebrated a new outdoor fitness area courtesy of Project Fit America, Baptist Health and Kelley Construction. Classes held signs showing their appreciation to businesses. Principal David Pate led the celebration and thanked everyone for their support of Shepherdsville Elementary School. Baptist Health Louisville David Gray spoke about the importance of proper nutrition and exercise. Greg Wright of Kelley Construction expressed pride in working with Shepherdsville Elementary School PE teacher Keith Mulkins in installing the new fitness area, Among the guests at the celebration were Buddy, the Louisville Bats mascot, and Board of Education member Lorraine McLaughlin. Students made an interlocking cardboard paper chain with fitness goals on each link. The chain served as the ceremonial ribbon which was cut by Mr. Mulkins using a pair of gold scissors donated by the Bullitt County Chamber of Commerce. Shepherdsville Elementary School staff and students enjoy the celebration. A cup stacking challenge was part of the celebration.
