Summer Camps for Students
Gregory Acker, Hamidou Koivogui and campers perform traditional West African songs. Students got into the rythym of the music. Hamidou Koivogui taught dance movements during the camp. Students enjoyed using traditional West African drums. Drum camp at Shepherdsville Elementary School sponsored by the Family Resource Center featuring Gregory Acker, a local West African Drum and Dance expert, and Hamidou Koivogui. In the Crossroads media center, students worked on their own LEGO creations. Campers used rubber bands to reinforce their structures to see if they could withstand an earthquake. Crossroads teacher Clark Kuhn worked with students to construct LEGO towers. Putting the finishing touches on a LEGO tower required a delicate hand! LEGO Camp at Crossroads Elementary School sponsored by the 21st Century Community Learning Center. Science teacher Jaymee Clemens measures a LEGO tower.
