Summer Food and Reading Program at Whispering Oaks
Lunch is served at the Whispering Oaks Mobile Home Park in Louisville. Anyone age 18 and under can enjoy a free lunch at several sites in Bullitt County. Freedom Elementary School teacher Kristen Axline reads a book during the summer food program. The reading program is held every Monday at Whispering Oaks. A choice of either white or chocolate milk is offered with the daily lunch. The most popular, by far, is chocolate milk! Entire families gather to enjoy lunch. Mrs. Axline records information for an upcoming field trip to Kentucky Down Under. Billy Green hands lunch to a child. Each lunch contains several nutritious offerings. Activities accompany the summer food and reading program.
