2016 Summer Food Service Program
The annual Summer Food Service Program is serving nutritious lunches free to participants 18 years of age and younger. One of the Shepherdsville sites is the Cedar Grove Apartments. At all of the Summer Food Service Program sites, meals are served Monday through Friday at various times (Cedar Grove Apartments is 12:40-1:00 p.m.) The only day meals are not served is July 4. This summer, Domino's Pizza has partnered with the program to offer cheese and pepperoni pizza slices every other Thursday. Bosco sticks were on the menu for June 14 during the Summer Food Service program at the Frank E. Simon Park in Shepherdsville. Summer Food Service Program participants choose two Bosco sticks and a bag of side items. Lunch at the Frank E. Simon Park is served from 12:05-12:25 Monday-Friday except July 4, Anyone age 18 and under is welcome to enjoy a nutritious sack lunch. Kids pick up their bagged lunch then enjoy their food at a picnic table. A choice of chocolate or white milk is served with every lunch. Kids enjoy their Bosco sticks and side items. The Frank E. Simon Park offers a pavilion and picnic tables for Summer Food Service Program participants to enjoy their food. In addition to the food, kids have a choice of white or chocolate milk.
