2016 Kindergarten Kickoff
Children stating kindergarten in the 2016-2017 school year assisted district Director of Elementary Education Adrienne Usher with the ribbon cutting for the annual Kindergarten Kickoff at the Paroquet Springs Conference Centre. Over 450 student backpacks were distributed during the event. Kids enjoyed having their picture made with Clifford the Big Red Dog. Books about the alphabet and phonics were distributed by the Family Resource Centers which sponsor Kindergarten Kickoff. Shepherdsville and Nichols Elementary School Family Resource Center Coordinator Traci Gould placed books on tables for kids to select. Mt. Washington Elementary School Principal Terri Lewis and kindergarten teacher Julie Hall greeting parents and students. Freedom Elementary School rolled out the red carpet for new kindergarten students. Old Mill Elementary School kindergarten teacher Patricia Stevens read part of a book to a new student. Pleasant Grove Elementary School featured its traditional fish pond which was popular with kids. The Brooks Elementary School booth had masks for kids to hold as their photo was taken. Kids and adults lined up to board a Bullitt County Public Schools bus. Students and their parents board a Bullitt County Public School bus. Director of Transportation Staci Goedde along with Driver Training Coordinators David Phelps and Kevin Whelan coordinated visitors with the school bus. Kindergarten Kickoff featured free hearing, vision and eye tests. Looking very cool at Kindergarten Kickoff! The youth will start kindergarten in Amie Huckabee's class at Cedar Grove Elementary School. Looking for just the right book at the Crossroads Elementary School booth. Lebanon Junction Elementary School Guidance Counselor Kevin Weihe assisted visitors during Kindergarten Kickoff.
