02/11/15 - Congratulations to the Eastside Cheerleaders at the National High School Cheerleading Championships in Orlando, Florida.  On Saturday, February 7th they competed for the Junior High National title in the Small and Large divisions.  Teams from around the county have to qualify for this event and we are the only middle school in history to qualify 2 middle school teams for this prestigious event.  There were over 25 teams in each of the middle school divisions that qualified for this event.  Both teams performed amazing routines and the small team placed 2nd overall in their division and the large team placed 11th overall in their division.  On Sunday, February 8th the top teams meet back again to perform for the World School title.  This includes middle schools from the small and large divisions and schools from other countries.  Other countries represented at the World School competitions were from Puerto Rico, Mexico, Canada and Japan.  In this competition, our large team place 6th and our Eastside small team won the overall title of World Champions!  They brought home the prestigious WHITE JACKET!!  Eastside also had the National Champion Junior Partner Stunt group which consisted of Haylee Miles, Maddie Saylor, Madison Reading and Kaylie Zabel!  Way to go Eastside Cheer for representing our school so well!!

02/05/15 - Several students braved the crowd of their fellow peers to show off talents in the EMS annual talent show on Tuesday. There was wonderful talent showcased and the judges had a hard time deciding the winner, they even called it the "best talent show ever!" The crowd proved to be a supportive group and displayed what being an Eastside Eagle is really all about! 

02/03/15The Eastside Academic team competed this weekend at regionals in Lebanon, Kentucky. Our FPS team (Future Problem Solving) got second in the region and will be advancing to state competition in March.  Reece Tomlinson was second in the region in Social Studies assessment and will also be moving on to the State Meet.  Congratulations to these hard working students!

01/22/15This past weekend, the EMS Academic Team competed in the District Meet. Our awesome academic team students brought their A-game to Quick Recall, Future Problem Solving, composition, and written assessments. EMS students competed against Hebron MS, Bernheim MS, Bullitt Lick MS, and Zoneton MS. Despite the stiff competition, EMS came in 2nd overall, and several of our students will advance to the Regional Competition, as well as our Quick Recall team! Congrats EMS Academic Team! 

01/12/15 - Congratulations to Ms.Trish Priddy for being named Eastside Middle School Teacher of the Year.  Ms. Priddy's energy and enthusiasm have been a fixture at Eastside since the school opened.  Thank you Ms. Priddy for your dedication and high expectations. 

01/08/15 Students, Don't forget to collect Box Tops for Education.  You can earn a FREE Dress Down Pass!  Put your Box Tops in a sandwich bag with your name and your homeroom teachers name on the front of the bag and turn them into the office.  The student turning in the most Box Tops will also receive a "special prize!

12/22/14 Do you have old technology sitting around your home or business? Please consider donating it for Eastside’s Technology Recycling Fundraiser.  Parents and students can drop-off these old working or non-working items to help the school raise money for new technology:  Desktop computers, laptops, computer monitors, cell phones, tablets, mp3 players, printers and printer cartridges, as well as electrical wiring, power cords and chargers.  Items can be dropped off before, after or during school.  We cannot accept TV's. 

10/14/14 - Eastside is once again, a distinguished school.  For this, and for the efforts of our students, teachers, administration, community and the BCPS family, we should be applauded.  Congratulations to former Eastside principal Ms. Bonita Franklin, last year’s 8th grade class, and to all who contributed to this success. Back to back Distinguished is not easy to obtain.
