  • Prepare teachers, parents, and students to become digital citizens in today's society.
  • How to integrate technology into the classroom (projectors, ActivSlates, Airliners, ActivBoards, Smartboards, document cameras, Powerpoint, Word, Safe Internet Searching, Class projects, Successmaker training, and implementing the KY Technology standards)
  • Train teachers on how to use interactive school devices (projectors, ActivSlates, Airliners, ActivBoards, Smartboards, document cameras, Classroom Response Systems (clickers), United Streaming, Study Island, and Successmaker
  • Help develop Professional Development opportunities throughout the year, summer workshops and trainings, and help integrate technology into PLC and Staff Meetings.
  • District Mobile Lab training (how to properly use the laptops, networking, and charging)
  • Small group and individual training, working with classrooms while modeling lessons, and develop confident technology users.
  • Observations of technology use and recommendations for support, integration, and  updates.
  • Work with Schools to setup a TIS at each school. These school TIS's would attend scheduled TIS trainings and serve as a "train-the-trainer" in their assigned schools.
  • District TIS's would attend internal and external training to keep informed of new ideas, equipment changes, and technology opportunities.
  • District TIS's would teach the use of current computers and technology to prepare the teachers for implementation of new technology, current technology, and future technology.
  • Help teachers become more productive by using technology in their day to day routines.
  • To serve as a communications tool for new technology and a resource for technology questions.
  • Assist with the SIS training process from the classroom perspective.
  • Help teachers create web pages and post information on-line to help students/parents become better informed.
  • Help teachers to better understand how they can incorporate email and other forms of electronic communication into daily communication and instruction.
  • Create training resources which would include videos, web pages, Word documents, Powerpoint presentations, Camtasia teaching videos, and professional development opportunities on how to use and integrate technology.  (Create a centrally located page where teachers and parents can utilize this information as needed.)
  • Work with district STLP/STC/LMS leaders with resources and ideas to promote, enhance, and strengthen the STLP program.
  • Conduct I-Safe training and Internet/email safety for students/parents. Train staff on importance of monitoring, using I-safe curriculum, and promoting digital usage while maintaining safety.
  • When TIS's visit schools, they will leave a follow-up questionnaire with the teachers to evaluate their performance so they can indicate the value of the training received, as well as provide suggestions and other feedback to help TIS's refine the training process.
