The Bullitt County Public Schools Grant Writing office was created to identify and coordinate the application process for competitive grant funding opportunities that support student achievement. The grant writing office provides guidance and support to teachers, departments, staffs and schools in developing and writing grant proposals. All grants to teachers, schools, departments or Bullitt County Public Schools must be accepted by the Bullitt County Board of Education before funds may be spent. Grant recipients should contact grant writer Juliann Vachon at juliann.vachon@bullitt.kyschools.us. She will include the grant on an upcoming Board of Education meeting agenda for consideration. Please be prepared to provide:
• A copy of the original grant application
• A copy of notification from the funder that a grant has been awarded
• The actual funds awarded through the grant, whether it be in the form of a check, cash or voucher
The district’s Finance Department will hold the funds and make them available to the recipient once the Board of Education has accepted the grant.
Procedure for Accepting Donations and Gifts
All donations and gifts to schools, departments or the Bullitt County Public School District of $500 or more must be accepted by the Bullitt County Board of Education. Grant recipients should contact grant writer Juliann Vachon at juliann.vachon@bullitt.kyschools.us. She will include the donation or gift on an upcoming Board of Education meeting agenda for consideration. Please be prepared to provide:
• The donor’s name
• The date of the donation
• The fair-market value of the donation
• A description of any nonmonetary donations
• A description of the recipient
• A description of how the funds will be used
