In response to the survey results, the Calendar Committee would like to share the following information:

Names that were submitted as an optional part of the survey have been removed.

The Calendar Committee reads and takes under advisement all survey results.  The Committee must follow state statutes and regulations when creating the calendar, therefore some requests and suggestions are not possible.

There are days such as election days and Martin Luther King Day that the district MUST be closed.  These days cannot be used to make up days.

Early release days cannot be used to makeup snow days.   Days missed must be made up using a whole day – school days missed cannot be made up in increments or banked time.

While the benefits of early release days may not be visible to everyone there are great results that come from this time teachers have to work together.  Please look for additional information regarding early release days coming from your child’s school as well as information in district and local publications regarding the benefits of and activities on early release days.

The district does not close for St. James Art Fair.

Please look for more information regarding Oaks Day.  Parents, Employees and students are involved in activities that raise funds to provide students opportunities to participate in extracurricular and other activities that they may not otherwise have the opportunity.
