Mt. Washington Elementary School (MWES), located in Mt. Washington, Kentucky in Eastern Bullitt County has a rich history of excellence in Bullitt County. Family partnerships are very important to the success of our school, and many of our students are proud to say that their parents were once "MWES Braves."
MWES serves over 600 students in preschool through fifth grade. Built in 1974, MWES once had a semi-open model. In 2015, MWES renovations began to modernize the building. The remodeling included adding a new gymnasium, music room, and library. Classroom structures have been updated with doors and a fourth wall in each. Restroom facilities have been updated and structured for student safety. The cafeteria has been updated as well. Learning labs have been created to establish a community learning area for small groups and projects.
Our school's mission is to empower students to become life long learners by providing a nurturing learning environment. Our faculty and staff demonstrate excellence in teaching and a commitment to meeting the needs of each student.
The vision of Mt. Washington is to empower all members of our learning community to strive for excellence as they develop into successful, engaged, lifelong learners.
