NEWS & ANNOUNCEMENTS

Principal's Corner

Hello MWES families,

I am a little late getting this out, it has been a busy busy few weeks. We are moving quickly to the end of the school year. We start KPREP testing tomorrow!! Our students and staff have worked hard this school year, I am sure it will reflect in their KPREP test scores. :)

As you know we experienced a huge loss last week in the passing of Cathy Pinkston. She was an amazing teacher that cared about her students as if they were her own. As a staff we are working on creating a memorial for her that will be a part of our school for years to come. We will keep our families updated as plans are finalized and the memorial is completed. Thank you for all the support and love, we have all felt it and needed it.

PRINCIPAL’S CORNER

Bullitt County Foundation for Excellence in Public Education supports increased technology access and student success for 2nd Grade students at MWES.

Several years ago, BCPS moved to enhance districtwide student learning through the use of Google Classroom and Chromebooks, but annual funding was limited.  Our MWES PTA began to raise funds to purchase Chromebooks with the plan to fund intermediate classrooms first and then primary.  2nd grade teachers recognized that Chromebooks would also benefit their students, particularly in the areas of learning interventions and extensions.  They immediately began searching for funding partners who might accelerate purchase of Chromebooks and greater access to technology for 2nd grade students.
