Welcome back to school, everyone! This is a far cry from a traditional start to the school year, but we can’t express enough how happy we are to be back in session. Although we wish we could be together in person, the safety of our students, staff, and community is our biggest priority. Starting remote allows us to protect our community, and it gives us time to reopen safely.
This is a unique year in more ways than one, as the Riverview Opportunity Center and the Area Technology Center come together to communicate more effectively. We would like to recognize all the students and staff for their flexibility and patience they have demonstrated through the end of last year and the opening weeks of this year. We’d also like to acknowledge the parents in our district, for shouldering much of the burden in overcoming the remote learning obstacle. Many of you have been active participants in your child’s remote learning, even as you adapt to changes in your own job. Again, we greatly appreciate your flexibility and patience -- we couldn’t have come this far without you.
One of our goals this year is to communicate consistently with our students, staff, parents, and other community members. There are too many exciting and interesting things happening within our walls to not share the news! Through our newsletter, Coming Together, we will be able to update you with any pertinent Riverview Opportunity Center and Area Technology Center information, successes, and updates. We will be sending an issue out bi-weekly, rotating with the new district newsletter; our second edition will be released September 25, and rotating from there. We want this newsletter to be available to anyone who is interested, so please make sure to share with your friends and family.
Enjoy the first edition of Coming Together -- there’s many more to come!
