BCPS partners with JCTC & Bullitt County Emergency Management Services

EMT

Bullitt County Public Schools has come together with Jefferson Community and Technical College to partner with Bullitt County Emergency Management Services in order to offer tuition-free EMT classes to high school students. This program allows students to train to become certified EMTs, as the community currently faces a shortage of local emergency services workers. Students who complete the program are guaranteed jobs with Bullitt County EMS.

Students enrolled in the program will receive classroom and field hours. Superintendent Jesse Bacon says, “They’ll be on ambulance rides and get the practical, hands-on experience that goes along with being a certified EMT.”

The program is held on Fridays from 8:00am-2:30pm at the JCTC Bullitt County Campus on Buffalo Run Road in Shepherdsville.
