JROTC visits UK ROTC program

On Tuesday, October 12, several cadets from the NBHS JROTC program visited the University of Kentucky to learn more about UK ROTC and what the school and program had to offer.

The UK Army ROTC has been a commissioning source for the United States Army for over 100 years. This program has one goal: to turn college students into military officers using a combination of classroom instruction, fitness training and exercises, and other special events. Cadets participate in many events, including working alongside the UK Police Department during packed UK football games. Graduating seniors receive a college diploma and a commission as a Second Lieutenant in the United States Army.

North Bullitt JROTC cadets received an Army and Air Force ROTC briefing, as well as a campus tour. Cadets learned about the programs from extremely knowledgeable and informative UK staff.
