Inclusion on posters is a reality for over two dozen Bullitt County Public School youth.

Bullitt County Partners in Prevention sponsors a Very Important Partner poster contest every other year. Students are nominated by adults and then interviewed by a committee before a final selection is made.

Here are the 2019 high school VIPs selected to appear on individual posters: Hunter Whitlock and Shaelin Warner of Bullitt Central; Slade Douthett, Julie Kromenacker and Devon Price of Bullitt East; and Grant Hilbert and Sam Hutchins of North Bullitt.

Middle school students picked for individual posters are: Claire Hart of Bernheim; Kloie Martin of Bullitt Lick; Morgan Sexton and Emily Hendricks of Eastside; Autumn Bolt and McKenna Gray of Hebron; Maddy Tobbe of Mt. Washington and Morgan Towles of Zoneton.

These students have been chosen to appear on group posters:

Brady Rosson, Joseph Brown, Kelsey McKnight, Brook McCarthy, Azlyn Fleming and Rebecca Priddy of Bullitt Central.

Abby Huffman, Andrea Foley, Taylor Clemens, Emily Ezell and Sarah Ezell of Bullitt East.

Ricky Riley, Grace Gipson, Mackenzie Conn, Madison Brown and Morgan Carlisle of North Bullitt.

Jamisen McCrary and Gabrielle Frank of Riverview Opportunity Center.

Landon Wicker, Maverick Waters, Samuel Walls, Hannah Huffman, Katlyn Gary, Brennan Gould and Rodolfo Harrison of Bernheim.

Leah Gardner, Adilynn Young, Ellie Smith, Sophia Walls and Nathaniel Cravens of Bullitt Lick

Marley Long, Brooklyn Sauer, Lilly Reid, Colin Elder, Alyssa Nourtsis, Evan Sexton, Carson Herron and Trenton Wood of Eastside.

Autumn Nation, Violet Wise, Alex Schmidt, Sydney Hughes and Andrew Kruse of Mt. Washington.

Students are photographed and then pick which picture they want for their poster. Prior to printing, the image is then stylized by Pleasant Grove Elementary School art teacher Stacena Bohannon.

An official unveiling is scheduled Monday, Oct. 14 at 6:30 p.m. inside Bullitt Central’s College and Career Center gymnasium. Speakers will read their nomination essay as students unveil their posters.

Students then autograph posters for proud family members before the posters are distributed for display in schools and businesses.
