🐝🌼 Hay Day Fun in 3rd Grade! 🌼🐝 Today our 3rd graders had an incredible hands-on learning experience during HAY Day with a special visit from Scott Moore from Kentucky Farm Bureau! Our students dove into the fascinating world of bees and discovered just how important they are to our lives. Here are some of the amazing things they learned: 🍯 Honey never spoils (how cool is that?!) ❄️ Bees work together to survive through the winter 🌸 It takes 2 million flowers to make just 1 pound of honey 🛠️ Beekeepers use special tools like a smoker and hive tool 🌎 Everything bees do helps humans—not just making honey, but supporting our food systems and environment We are so grateful for opportunities like this that bring real-world learning to life for our students. Thank you, Scott Moore, for helping our Broncos see just how powerful these tiny pollinators are! #theBESt #BroncoWay #HAYDay #AgEducation #FutureLeaders 🐝🌾

🎉 Big News for Brooks Elementary STEAM! 🚀

Last week at the KAST Conference, our incredible STEAM teacher was awarded a grant of nearly $12,000 to support learning and innovation at Brooks Elementary!

During the conference, she also spent time learning about the best ways to select and use new resources so they can make the greatest impact for our students and staff. This means exciting new tools, experiences, and opportunities are coming to our STEAM program!

Grants like this don’t happen by accident. They are the result of the time, dedication, and care our STEAM teacher puts into finding, writing, and managing grants that benefit our entire school community.

Because of her hard work, our Broncos will have even more opportunities to explore, create, design, and innovate.

👏 Thank you for investing in our students and helping us continue to dream big at Brooks!

Hi, Bronco families!

As we close out our month focused on Honesty, students have been learning that telling the truth builds trust, strengthens relationships, and helps us grow from our mistakes. We’ve talked about how honesty isn’t about being perfect—it’s about taking responsibility, repairing harm, and being true to ourselves.

Thank you for continuing these conversations at home and for creating safe spaces where your children feel comfortable telling the truth. Your partnership makes such a difference. 💛

This week's read aloud is Howard B. Wigglebottom and the Monkey on his Back by Howard Binkow. This is a story about making choices, telling the truth, and learning from mistakes.

Our iReady Roll Call this week continues to highlight the incredible hard work happening at Brooks Elementary! 💪🐴

This success is not by chance — it’s the result of dedicated teachers creating purposeful learning opportunities, supportive staff cheering students on, and families reinforcing the importance of consistent effort at home. When school and home work together, student growth skyrockets! 🚀

The time students invest in iReady directly strengthens the work they are doing during core instruction in the classroom. Even more importantly, it supports their individual growth goals — helping each Bronco move forward from where they are to where they’re meant to be.

We are so proud of our students for showing perseverance, focus, and commitment to their learning. Keep it up, Broncos — your hard work matters and it makes a difference! 💙✨

🇺🇸🎭 Fifth Grade Brings American History to LIFE! 🎭🇺🇸 Our 5th grade Broncos didn’t just learn about history — they stepped into it! Students researched key events leading up to the American Revolution, collaborated in teams, built their own sets, and fully immersed themselves in the drama and decisions that shaped our nation. From the tension of the Boston Massacre to the bold protest of the Boston Tea Party, and the powerful words of the Declaration of Independence, our students explored “the road to the American Revolution” through theater. They analyzed primary sources, read scripts, designed scenery, and performed for one another — showing what it truly means to be Effective Communicators and Self-Directed Navigators in their learning. This is authentic learning. This is engagement. This is history coming alive at Brooks Elementary. 🇺🇸 Excellence begins here. 🐴✨ #BroncoPride #AmericanHistory #RoadToRevolution #TheBESt #ExcellenceBeginsHere

🌾🐄 HAY DAYS at Brooks Elementary! 🐔🥛 Our Broncos have been digging deep into Kentucky Agriculture, and the past two Hay Days have been INCREDIBLE! Last week, we welcomed the amazing students from North Bullitt High School FFA 🐓🌽. They brought a variety of chickens and taught our students all about chicken farming — from daily care to egg production to what it takes to responsibly raise livestock. Our students were engaged, asking thoughtful questions, and getting a hands-on look at agriculture in action! Yesterday, we rolled out the welcome mat for Southland Dairy Farmers and their Mobile Dairy Classroom 🥛🐄. Students watched and learned about dairy cows, the milking process, farm life, and how milk travels from the farm to our tables. Seeing the cow up close and learning about her daily routine made agriculture come alive in the best way! Both experiences connected directly to Kentucky agriculture and helped our students see the importance of farming in our community and state. 🌾 At Brooks, we don’t just read about learning — we LIVE it. Excellence begins here! #HayDays #KentuckyAg #TheBESt #BroncoPride #ExcellenceBeginsHere 🐴✨
