The countdown to an amazing new school year is on, and we're excited to welcome everyone back. Here are a few important reminders to help your family get ready:
Open House Dates
• 7th & 8th Grade: Friday, August 7 | 5:00–7:00 PM
• 6th Grade: Monday, August 10 | 5:00–7:00 PM
Spirit Wear
We'll have a limited selection of spirit wear available for purchase during Open House. In-person purchases can be made with cash or check only.
If you placed a spirit wear order online over the summer, you can pick it up during Open House.
Missed the summer sale? The online spirit wear store will reopen soon. Please note that new online orders may not arrive before the first day of school.
Dress Down Days
The cost for the entire year's Dress Down Days is $20.
Homeroom Teacher Assignments
By the end of the day on August 4, families will receive an email with their student's homeroom teacher assignment. Students should also be able to view this information in Infinite Campus.
If you have not received your student's homeroom assignment by Thursday, please contact our school counselor, Mr. Bates, via email or stop by and see him during Open House. He will be available in the gym for most of the evening.

Every year, families need to complete the fee waiver and the free/reduced lunch forms, if they feel this is something that would benefit them. The free/reduced meal application will waive students for breakfast/lunch. We request families complete a fee waiver form to have fees waived. If unsure if you'd qualify, please complete the forms, just in case you do meet the qualifications. This is something that MUST BE COMPLETED EVERY school year.

We are now accepting nominations for two parent representatives for SBDM and parent representatives for PTSO for the 2026–27 school year.
SBDM (Site-Based Decision Making Council): Works with school staff and administration to help make decisions that support student achievement and school improvement.
PTSO (Parent Teacher Student Organization): Helps build school community by supporting events, programs, fundraising, and family engagement activities.

At Eastside Middle School, eighth-grader Alex is doing a lot more than just playing chess. He’s competing at the highest level as a state blitz chess champion.
In this week’s Beyond the Bell, Alex shares how he thinks under pressure, adapts in real time, and uses strategy to stay one step ahead. His mindset shows how students are building skills that go far beyond the classroom.
