Brooks Families, please make sure students are not getting off at Brooks Elementary to go into the school or to get into the car rider line. This is a safety concern and needs to be addressed. Thank you in advance for your help in this!

Dear Hebron Families and Guardians, We need your immediate cooperation regarding car rider dismissal procedures at Hebron Middle School. Unfortunately, we have experienced several serious safety concerns during afternoon dismissal this week. Today, a vehicle attempted to evade the established car rider line and nearly struck a Hebron staff member who was directing traffic. Throughout the week, we have also received reports of drivers disregarding dismissal procedures, ignoring staff directions, and, in some instances, speaking or behaving disrespectfully toward staff members who are simply trying to ensure that every student gets home safely. This is unacceptable, and more importantly, it is dangerous. Our dismissal procedures are in place for one reason: the safety of our students, staff, families, and visitors. Saving a few minutes in the car rider line is never worth putting another person at risk. Effective immediately, we are asking all families to follow these expectations: * Remain in the designated car rider line and follow the established traffic pattern. * Follow all directions given by Hebron staff members directing traffic. * Do not drive around, pass, or attempt to bypass other vehicles in the dismissal line. * Do not instruct your child to leave campus and meet you on a nearby street, at a church, in another parking lot, or at any other location outside of our established afternoon dismissal areas. * Please remain patient and respectful. Our staff members are outside each afternoon working to move a large number of students and vehicles as safely and efficiently as possible. We are also seeking law-enforcement assistance with afternoon dismissal and will be reviewing available camera footage and documenting license plate numbers when vehicles or drivers engage in behavior that places students or staff at risk. If these concerns continue, Hebron will move to a controlled car-tag dismissal system. Under that system, car riders would remain inside the building in a supervised location until their assigned vehicle number is called. Students would then be released or escorted to the designated loading area as their vehicle moves forward. While this process would likely take additional time, we will make that change if it becomes necessary to protect our students and staff. We sincerely appreciate the overwhelming majority of our families who follow our procedures every day, demonstrate patience, listen to staff directions, and help us maintain a safe dismissal environment. Thank you for partnering with us to keep Hebron safe. We need everyone’s cooperation beginning immediately. Sincerely, Lauren Burnett Principal Hebron Middle School

Drop off is not until 7:50 please do not exit your vehicles until then. We had a ton of kiddos dropped off early and it started a domino effect. This is a safety concern as we do not have adults on supervision until 7:50.

Don't forget!!! Tomorrow begins our Childhood Cancer Awareness week. It will conclude with a house meeting and rally day where totals will be revealed. The house with the most donated, individually wrapped snacks will win ice cream sandwiches!

The house meeting/rally days are new for Hebron. During the rallies, we will continue some of the fun started last year and also offer concessions which will be sold by the PTSA. Since this is our first time trying it, concessions will be offered for purchase for only 8th grade students. We hope to be ready for all grades by the next house rally day!:) All items will be $1 and money will need to be brought in on Friday.

All day Friday, we will have a focus on belonging and acts of service. We are so excited for this opportunity for our students. We also look forward to seeing everyone tomorrow in their favorite team or house attire!
