We need your help. Students are expected to complete 40 mins on iReady in reading and 40 mins on iReady in math every week. This is done during 4th period for our intervention time. Students should at minimum, pass 1 lesson per week in both subjects. The reason this is so important is, each student works in what is called their "pathway". This means, if a student is deficit in a certain area and below grade level, they will get extra practice on the skills they specifically need. For those on grade level, they are pushed to accelerate their learning as well.
Beginning this week, you may notice an additional grade for your child's 4th period, for not only passing a lesson but also actively completing iReady minutes. We have been talking a lot with students about this and would appreciate families reiterating the expectation.
We are actively working towards creating a culture that holds students to high expectations, supports students as individuals and encourages them to not only believe they are capable of more but to help them achieve it.
Middle school is a tricky time but it is one that our staff genuinely enjoy. Together, we hope to speak these truths over students and watch them soar. Thank you for all you do to support Hebron Middle School, our students, staff and administration. It's a great day to be a PANTHER.
Sincerely,
Principal Burnett

Hebron Families,
I am blown away by the responses already for the CER prompt. I have received 15 student responses - on a snow day! You can't tell me Hebron kids aren't amazing! I announced that the first 25 will received 30 PBIS points for submitting. We will choose the top 3 to send to Dr. Bacon regarding tomorrow's decision for a snow or NTI day. Due to so many early responses however, I am going to extend this to the first 30 students! Get your responses in by 2p.m. TODAY to be considered! Attached are some things to consider. If any kiddo wants to resubmit, you are welcome to do so. Stay warm and cozy! As always, I am so proud to be your Principal and I am grateful for the opportunity to work with amazing students and families.
Sincerely,
Principal Burnett
Challenge - Write a CER using the prompt below. Email your response to Mrs. Burnett at Lauren.burnett@bullitt.kyschools.us. The first 25 students to submit a quality CER will received 30 PBIS POINTS! Good Luck!
Prompt:
Based on the weather conditions on Tuesday, should the day be an NTI day or a traditional snow day? You will write a CER (Claim–Evidence–Reasoning) response using facts, observations, and logical reasoning—not just opinions.
Take a clear position:
Tuesday should be an NTI day,
OR
Tuesday should be a traditional snow day
✨ Bonus Challenge:
Include a counterargument (What might someone who disagrees say?) and explain why your claim is still stronger.
*Cars may begin to line up across the front of the school beginning at 7:30 a.m. Please do not pull around to the front prior to this time in order to allow Discovery students (who start earlier) to be dropped off.
*Students may start unloading at 7:40 a.m.
*Students need to unload at the front of the building only.
*Please pull ALL the way forward as directed. Once the cars all stop across the front, all students need to unload.
Once the staff member stops the line, this will signal for everyone to safely unload. This will only work if we all do our part.
*Most of all, thank you for your patience as we try to find the best solutions to getting students in on time.
*Today moved faster! We will get there!

Our school day begins at 8a.m. Though we know the car rider line gets backed up at times, many did not arrive until after 8a.m this morning. We have tried to accommodate families and keep the door open longer and also bring the line around the front of the building for drop off. Unfortunately, this has had the opposite effect and car riders are being dropped off later. For this reason, any student that arrives after the 8 a.m bell will need to sign in the front office and will receive a tardy. We are actively working to create a culture of urgency and academic excellence at Hebron Middle School. Beginning on time and maintaining high expectations directly corresponds to this. We appreciate your understanding. Thank you in advance for your help and support of our students, staff and school at large.
Sincerely,
Principal Burnett

Also, we have seen an increase in pajama pants. This is a violation of our dress code. Students that wear them will be issued a strike and must call home to inform families. Thank you in advance for your help and support. As the saying goes, it takes a village and we certainly appreciate ours!

A Message from Principal Burnett:
Tomorrow we will be having our KSA celebration assemblies. Students that received a proficient and/or distinguished in Math or Reading will be bringing home certificates and a letter to families regarding the proficiency dance for those that qualify. ALL students will be bringing home their KSA reports from the 24-25 school year as well as their newest iReady benchmark scores. Please review them with your child. These are important conversations to have as a family, to see where students are performing and what their goals are for the future. Thank you for continuing to support our school, our teachers and our students as we grow.
It's a great day to be a panther!
Sincerely,
Lauren Burnett
