ATTENDANCE MATTERS

01/12/2024

Nichols Knights Families,

It’s been a great week!  We finished up our iReady and Fastbridge assessments.  Students are working hard and learning so much.  We appreciate their hard work, and the hard work of all of our teachers.  Thank you!

Please be prepared for a possible NTI day coming soon.  The weather is looking pretty bad for the upcoming week, so check the BCPS website Monday night and early Tuesday morning in case there are any announcements.  The teachers have all communicated their meeting links/times and the procedures they will be using in the event we have an NTI day.  You can also visit the NTI information page on the BCPS website linked here.

The tidbit from the Student Handbook this week is about Health Information:

HEALTH INFORMATION

  • Please keep your child at home if they are truly sick.

  • We will call you to come pick up your child for the following reasons:

    • A temperature of 100.4 or higher

    • Vomiting

    • Diarrhea

  • If we call you to pick up your child for the reasons listed above, the absence will be excused.  The following day will also be excused because your child should be fever-free (without the use of fever reducing agents) and vomit or diarrhea free for 24 hours before returning to school.

  • Children who are suspected of having pink eye, head lice, fifths disease, hand/foot/mouth disease or chicken pox cannot remain in the classroom at the risk of infecting other students and should be kept home, or sent to the front office immediately, and cannot return to school until they have been released to return to school by a physician or the health department.

Upcoming dates:

Jan. 15 - Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday, no school

Jan. 18 - PTA meeting 6:00

Have a wonderful 3-day weekend!
