Nichols Knight

Dear Nichols Families,

As I sit down to write this letter, I am filled with a mix of emotions—joy, gratitude, and some sadness as well.  After 31 years in education, and 8 years of serving as your principal, I am retiring at the end of this school year and embarking on a new chapter in my life.

It has been an incredible honor and privilege to lead the Nichols Knights. Watching our students grow, learn, and succeed has been the most rewarding part of my career. Your children have brought immense joy to my life, and I am grateful for the opportunity to have been a part of their educational journey.

I want to express my deepest gratitude to our dedicated teachers and staff who work tirelessly to create a nurturing and enriching environment for our students. Their commitment to excellence and unwavering dedication to our school community have made Nichols Elementary what it is today.

To our parents and guardians, thank you for entrusting us with the education and well-being of your children. Your involvement, support, and partnership have been invaluable in creating a thriving school community. Together, we have celebrated successes, navigated challenges, and fostered a culture of collaboration and inclusivity.

While I will miss the daily interactions with students, families, and colleagues, I am excited about the adventures that await me in retirement. Rest assured, I leave Nichols in the capable hands of our outstanding staff, knowing that the spirit of excellence and commitment to student success will continue to flourish under new leadership.

As I reflect on my time as a Nichols Knight, I am filled with cherished memories that I will carry with me always. I am so proud to have been able to bring our “Houses” to Nichols and to have written our school song, “We Are the Nichols Knights.” It is my hope that I am remembered fondly on House Party days and when the school song is sung. Thank you for allowing me to be a part of your lives and for the love and support you have shown me throughout my tenure as principal.

Please know that although I may no longer be physically present at Nichols, my heart will always remain connected to this wonderful community. I will always consider myself a Nichols Knight! I look forward to hearing about the continued achievements and successes of our students in the years to come.

Wishing you all continued success, happiness, and prosperity.  Go Knights!

Sincerely,

Anne Marie Landry
