Nichols Knights Families,
Exciting news! The West Bullitt Recreation Center had owned the property (field house and ball field) behind Nichols. However, they have recently donated their land to Bullitt County Fiscal Court. BCPS Facilities Director, Danny Clemens, visited Nichols today to give me an update. He said the field house would be removed as would fencing, etc. and a pavilion and walking track will be installed. The plan is for this new “park” to be ready for Nichols students to use beginning in the fall.
I have also been in touch with the Food Services Director, Todd Crumbacker. Nichols is slated to get new cafeteria tables! We have previewed several designs and are in the process of finalizing the order. The new tables should be here in August when students return!
It wouldn’t be a Nichols News without a little bit of thanks as well. Thank you to all who came out to our yearly Spring Fling! The weather was perfect! Our PTA raised almost $8000 for Nichols with the auction. WOW! We’d also like to give a big thank you to our wonderful teachers, staff, volunteers and vendors for making the day a success. We couldn’t do it without our amazing community.
I have had a few inquiries about end of the year events. As long as the last day of school does not change, Field Day will be Tuesday, May 14th, Kindergarten Graduation will be at 2:45 on May 16th and 5th Grade Graduation will be at 2:45 on the last day of school, May 17th. You can also find everything listed under Events on the Nichols website. https://www.bullitt.k12.ky.us/o/nes.
Google forms will be available at the end of April to RSVP for Field Day and both graduations.
