On Wednesday, Mrs. Mullins's class participated in an anticipatory active to kickoff My Side of the Mountain. They were given quotes they will see while reading the book. They thought about and recorded connections, possible meanings, predictions, emotions incited, and more. 💜🐬

🏹💜 A Great Season for Our PGE Archery Team! 💜🏹

Our Pleasant Grove Archery Team wrapped up their season last weekend with an impressive team high score of 2428!

While we narrowly missed qualifying for the KY NASP State Tournament, this team had an incredible season filled with achievements. Across the 7 tournaments they competed in, our archers brought home 1st place, 2nd place, and 3rd place team trophies, along with 8 individual medals! 🏅

We are so proud of the hard work, focus, and dedication our archers showed all season long. Their growth and sportsmanship made this a season to celebrate, and we are already looking forward to what they will accomplish next year! 💜🐬

💜🐬 Bullitt Day at PGE! 🐬💜

Our staff had a wonderful Bullitt Day on Monday filled with reflection, learning, and a whole lot of fun!

We started the day with teachers reflecting on their instructional practices from this school year and celebrating the growth happening across our classrooms. From there, we took a trip down memory lane during a team-building activity that had everyone thinking about their very first year in a school system—which ended with a dancing good time! 💃🕺

Next, the teachers who attended the January Get Your Teach On professional learning conference shared their learning with our staff. Together we explored engaging classroom strategies and focused on the importance of students clearly knowing what they are learning, why it matters, and what success looks like.

We are grateful for a team that is always learning, growing, and working together to give our students the very best! 💜

On Thursday, Principal Dickerson participated in our Principal/Student Advisory Committee meeting before completing a perimeter check. Then she heard from a handful of second graders preparing to present a proposal to the Mt. Washington major. She listened intently to determine which business would be the best addition to our community. Before wrapping up her hour, she wrote a postcard of encouragement to the students. Principal Dickerson led with kindness and positivity!

Principal Harrison was eager and ready to lead the way on Wednesday. He delivered instructional materials to the library, ensured safety with a perimeter check, celebrated a student who received a Positive Office Referral, and listened to several second grade proposal presentations. We are grateful for Principal Harrison's time and help!

🍳📚 Day 4 of Read Across America Week – Green Eggs & Ham! 📚🍳

Today our Dolphins celebrated Green Eggs & Ham Day in the most delicious way! Our cafeteria staff served up the classic Green Eggs & Ham for breakfast, bringing a favorite Dr. Seuss story to life. 💚

To join in on the fun, students and staff sported their green while enjoying this Seuss-tastic start to the day! It was wonderful to see so many smiling faces as everyone celebrated reading together.

At PGE, we love finding creative ways to make books come alive and inspire a love of reading in our students. Today was a perfect reminder that learning can be fun, memorable, and maybe even a little green!

💜 “I do so like green eggs and ham! Thank you! Thank you, Sam-I-Am!” 💜

🧦📚 Day 3 of Read Across America Week – Crazy Socks & Reading Floats! 📚🧦

Today our Dolphins stepped into the day with their craziest, silliest, and most colorful socks to celebrate the joy of reading! 💜

But the fun didn’t stop there… our halls came alive during the Reading Floats Parade, where students proudly showcased creative floats inspired by their favorite books and characters. From beloved stories to imaginative designs, it was incredible to see the creativity, teamwork, and love for reading on full display! 📖✨

Moments like these remind us that reading doesn’t just stay on the page—it comes to life through imagination, creativity, and collaboration.

We are so proud of our Dolphins for their hard work and enthusiasm!
Keep those pages turning! 💜🐬💜

🐾📚 Day 2 – We’re WILD About Reading! 📚🐾
Today at PGE, our students and staff showed just how wild they are about books! Reading helps us explore new habitats, meet fascinating characters, and go on adventures without ever leaving the classroom.

At Pleasant Grove, we lead, we learn, we care, and we make a difference — and becoming strong readers is one of the biggest ways we empower our students to do just that.

The wild fun isn’t over yet… stay tuned for Day 3!

Principal Landon embarked on his journey a little unsure but tackled the hour with determination and a smile😊 He ensured building safety, ran our Live School PGE Store, and celebrated a couple of Positive Office Referral students. Before his hour concluded he made sure our last House Point class winner was recognized. Principal Landon stepped our lot of his comfort zone and led with pride!💜🐬
