Attention parents!

Nominations for a SBDM parent representative have closed. Voting will be held on Wednesday, December 17th from 7:30 am to 5:30 pm. Please find a moment to stop by the office and vote. Below is a statement from our nominee.

Erika Franklin- "I’m interested in serving on the SBDM Council because, as a parent of three cougar cubs, I want to play an active role in shaping the school community they grow up in. I understand how deeply the decisions made here impact our children’s day-to-day experiences — their confidence, their safety, their learning, and the support they receive. I want to bring a strong parent perspective to the table, work collaboratively with staff and families, and help ensure that every child at our school has what they need to succeed."

🚨Last Call for Nominations!‼️🚨 In Kentucky, each school has a School Based Decision Making (SBDM) council composed of the principal, elected teachers, and elected parents. The council is in charge of making many of the most important decisions about how the school operates and supports student achievement. The council is a wonderful chance to learn about our school, work closely with teachers, and help make our school even more successful than it is now. We are in need of one parent member of the council who will receive training and serve from January 2026 to June 2026. Nominations are due through the google doc form by 5:00pm on December 12th. If you know someone who would be a good candidate, please encourage that person to run. The election will be held Wednesday December 17th from 7am to 5:30 pm in the Roby Office. Please plan to stop by and vote. This includes parents, stepparents, and foster parents. Legal guardians are also eligible to vote if the child lives in their home. I urge every parent to participate in this important decision about the future of our children’s school. Results will be announced on the school social media on December 18th. Thank you for your interest in our school, and please let me know if you have questions. Here is the link for the google doc form to make your nominations. https://forms.gle/35MqcADdocy8p9Q28

During our November faculty meeting, our staff awards were presented to new outstanding caregivers.

Mrs. Vorster had this to say about her choice for the excellence award, "I chose to pass this award on to Jessie Dawson. She consistently goes above and beyond in both of her roles and is always willing to support others in theirs. She has integrated into Roby seamlessly—so much so that it feels as though she has always been part of our team. Her dedication, reliability, and positive presence make her truly deserving of this recognition."

The third grade team chose to give the CARE award to our math interventionist, Mrs. VanZile. "she shows care to students and staff in so many ways. Between making treats for birthdays, to cheer up colleagues or encouraging students when they've had a tough day. Mrs. VanZile shows care every day."
