BCPS SUN meals

Bullitt County Public Schools (BCPS) is proud to announce the return of its annual summer feeding initiative now known as SUN Meals, formerly the Summer Food Service Program (SFSP). This federally funded program provides free, nutritious meals to children and teens under 19 years old during the summer months when school is not in session.

Expanded Access Through Non-Congregate Feeding

Thanks to a new permanent ruling from the USDA, BCPS is now able to offer non-congregate feeding options, allowing families to pick up 7-day meal packs for children to enjoy at home. Each pack includes seven breakfast meals and seven lunch meals, ensuring children continue to receive healthy, consistent nutrition throughout the week.

This summer, meal packs will be available for pick-up every Tuesday from 5:00 – 6:30 PM at the following locations:

  • Cedar Grove Elementary

  • Lebanon Junction Elementary

  • Nichols Elementary

Registration Required

To help us plan and serve our community effectively, registration is required. Parents and guardians can register their children by visiting our online registration form here. Please note that:

  • Meal packs are free of charge.

  • Only one breakfast and one lunch per child, per day, may be received across all SUN Meals services.

  • Children attending other SUN Meals-sponsored events (e.g., Vacation Bible School or LEAP programs) are still eligible for partial meal packs based on federal guidelines.

This summer service is one of the many ways BCPS continues to live out our mission to inspire and equip students to succeed in life by ensuring no child goes hungry, whether school is in session or not.
