Title IX Harassment & Discrimination
BCPS is dedicated to providing the highest quality of education possible to our students – but in order to provide this quality, students need to feel safe, secure, and supported within their school environment, whether it be in the classroom, during an extracurricular activity, or participating in a sport. This is where the Title IX Department comes in.
The US Department of Education defines Title IX as: No person in the United States shall, on the basis of sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any education program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance.
The BCPS Title IX Department actively ensures our students are being treated equitably and feel comfortable within their learning environments. This Department is constantly evaluating new methods, processes, and protocols for all areas within BCPS to maintain the high standards the district sets for our students, teachers, administration, and staff.
