Opioid Grant Team

SHEPHERDSVILLE, KY – Following the award of the Public School Districts' Opioid Recovery Trust grant, Bullitt County Public Schools (BCPS) is proud to announce the formal launch of its latest strategic initiative: the RISE Task Force. This project marks a transformative shift toward deeper preventative care and robust community integration to support students and families affected by the opioid crisis.

To spearhead these efforts, BCPS has established a dedicated leadership team to bridge the gap between school resources and community needs:

  • Stephanie Warner serves as the Project Director for the Opioid Recovery Grant, overseeing the implementation of evidence-based screening tools and the Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) framework.

  • Tori Warner has been appointed as the Family & Community Liaison, a critical role designed to foster relationships with community agencies and provide direct outreach to local families.

The team has already "hit the ground running," meeting with community officials to align project activities with the specific needs of the Bullitt County area.

The RISE Task Force will focus on providing therapeutic and restorative resources that empower the next generation. Key objectives for the funding utilization include:

  • Identifying schools with the highest population of students in foster care to host specialized family engagement events.

  • Developing neonatal support and preventative programs for pregnant teenage mothers.

  • Cooperating with the court system to identify and support at-risk families in Bullitt County.

  • Utilizing grant funds for professional development, student materials, and community-wide awareness campaigns, including signage at athletic fields and family engagement nights.

Dr. Jesse Bacon, BCPS Superintendent said, "This critical financial support will provide key therapeutic and restorative resources to empower the next generation. This is truly a transformative moment for our students and BCPS community."

The district remains committed to its mission to inspire and equip students by creating a sustainable network of care that extends well beyond the classroom walls.
