SHEPHERDSVILLE, KY – Bullitt County Public Schools is thrilled to announce the appointment of Dr. Jessica Emerson as the new Principal of Lebanon Junction Elementary School (LJES). Dr. Emerson steps into this leadership role after serving as the Assistant Principal at Freedom Elementary, bringing a wealth of experience, passion, and dedication to the LJES community.
Dr. Emerson has a deep and diverse background in elementary education. She began her career in the classroom as a dedicated teacher specializing in math, science, and fourth-grade education. Her natural leadership abilities quickly led her to district-level impact, where she served as an Instructional Coach and an Assistant Principal in Henderson County before joining the Bullitt County Public Schools family.
A lifelong learner, Dr. Emerson holds an impressive academic background. She earned her Bachelor’s degree from Campbellsville University, followed by a Master’s degree from the University of the Cumberlands. She then went on to obtain her Specialist degree from Eastern Kentucky University, ultimately capping her academic journey by earning a Doctorate in Education from Murray State University.
Dr. Emerson firmly believes that a great school is built on the foundation of strong relationships. Her leadership focus centers on creating a safe, positive, and hardworking environment where every child feels genuinely supported. Throughout her administrative career, she has successfully headed school safety programs, championed instructional leadership, coached positive behavior teams, and worked closely with parents to maintain open, transparent home-school communication.

"I’m excited to join a school community that believes in strong relationships, meaningful learning, and ensuring every student has the opportunity to thrive. I look forward to listening, learning, and working alongside our incredible students, staff, families, and community as we build on the great traditions of Lebanon Junction."
