Ms.Hart's, Mrs.Demeter's and Mrs.Trent's class are exploring numbers to 1000. They're working on a collaborative project to have these 100s charts filled in by spring break! They're learning how numbers build on one another and exploring how patterns happen with 10 more/10 less and 100 more/ 100 less!

The MES read aloud project is a project of the STLP club. We don't have a librarian so we did the read aloud project. We will help kids listen to books they love. Our 5th graders are working towards their field trip to Junior Achievement's Biztown later this year. Every year, students learn about economics, jobs, saving and spending money, and taxes while experiencing what different jobs may be like. Students apply for roles they would like to have. There is one mayor of Biztown each year. Those who want to apply for mayor must give an election speech to their peers. Here are some of our students who gave a speech on Friday. Sydney Curtsinger won the position of Biztown Mayor for this year.

5th grade students have been hard at work with applying Graduate Profile: Productive Collaborator and Innovative Problem Solver! Students are investigating the challenges of early Jamestown. After reading through the text they were tasked to construct a Jamestown Fort using popsicle sticks, glue, paint and clay. They were excited to build and construct a Jamestown Fort!
