📚💖 BOOKS & KINDNESS DAY IS COMING TO MWES! 💖📚 We’re celebrating the life and legacy of Dolly Parton and her love of literacy, generosity, and kindness! 🌸✨ 📅 Friday, September 25, 2026 📍 Mount Washington Elementary School 📖 HOW CAN YOU HELP? We are asking students and families to bring ONE gently used children’s book to help stock the Little Libraries at Mt. Washington Park and in front of MWES! 📚💕 👢✨ DRESS DOLLY-INSPIRED OR COUNTRY-THEMED! Students may celebrate with: 💗 Sparkles, sequins, or rhinestones 🩷 Pink or bright-colored clothing 🤠 Cowboy boots or hats ⭐ Denim or country-western attire Dress-up participation and book donations are optional, and all outfits must follow the school dress code. On Friday, our 4th grade students had the opportunity to visit the Traveling Memorial Wall for a meaningful field trip.

Students searched the wall for the names of Bullitt County residents who served and made the ultimate sacrifice during the Vietnam War. They also had the opportunity to hear from a local veteran with Warrior Rounds, who shared personal stories and spoke with our students about the Vietnam War, the memorial, and the importance of honoring those who served.

This was a powerful hands-on learning experience that allowed our students to connect history, our community, and the sacrifices of veterans. We are so thankful to the veterans and volunteers who took the time to educate and inspire our students. 🇺🇸

We remember. We honor. We are grateful. ❤️🤍💙
