Today, we focused on the “O” for Ownership in SOAR! Taking time to review expectations helps ensure that all students and staff are on the same page about what’s expected every day. #EveryEagleEveryDay





Mrs. Hunt's AP Lit students are learning how to write a defensible thesis using sentence strips. Students Model Mrs. Hunt’s feedback strategy with sticky notes to help their peers improve and revise their statements. #EveryEagleEveryDay



Mrs. Seawright led a creative activity today, helping students chunk a text to better understand their reading. She built in plenty of brain breaks to keep students engaged and focused throughout the lesson. #EveryEagleEveryDay



Today during TEAM time, we focused on the “S” in SOAR — Safety! 🦅 Students worked together to discuss and share how we demonstrate safety in our school and classrooms. #EveryEagleEveryDay




In Mr. Morrison’s class, students rolled up their sleeves to give old technology a new purpose. By wiping hard drives, installing Linux, and building SmartPass kiosks for classrooms, they practiced being Innovative Problem Solvers—anticipating challenges, testing solutions, and creating something that has an immediate impact on their school community. #EveryEagleEveryDay



Ms. Tilford challenged her seniors with a puzzle that had no picture to guide them. Teams had to rely on communication, listening, and creative thinking to succeed. It was a powerful way to practice being Productive Collaborators—leveraging strengths, synthesizing perspectives, and learning how feedback helps a group reach its goal. #EveryEagleEveryDay

Your senior fee covers:
• senior t-shirt
• Graduation and Baccalaureate Programs
• Senior events (at least 1 per quarter)
• Senior Breakfast at grad practice
• Field Day Lunch and Awards
• Academic and Career ready cords
Cap and gown meeting will occur in September and orders will be due in December.
Keep an eye on your google classroom at least weekly and make sure you haven't missed any posts.
Additionally, keep an eye on your attendance and grades throughout the year to be eligible to walk in graduation.
Graduation Requirements (Per BCPS policy):
1. Have no more than ten (10) cumulative unexcused absences during their final year.
2. Be free of all disciplinary action (must complete all detentions, Friday/Saturday School, and complete any suspension).
3. Fulfill all restitution on any outstanding financial obligations (fees, fines, loans, cafeteria charges, etc.)
4. Be in attendance and conduct themselves in a responsible and orderly manner during all graduation ceremony practices.
5. Commit no egregious offenses that, in the Principal’s judgment, disqualify a student from participation in commencement ceremonies.

Students in Ms. Knight’s class are using Think-Pair-Share to dive into meaningful academic discourse about the Song Dynasty! It’s amazing to see them collaborating, sharing ideas, and deepening their understanding through discussion. #EveryEagleEveryDay
