As we get ready for the fun of Red Ribbon Week and Halloween, we’d like to remind families of our Dress Code Expectations and guidelines for upcoming “Dress-Up” and “Spirit” Days.
While these special days allow students to show their creativity and school spirit, we ask that all costumes and outfits remain school-appropriate and within our dress code policy.
✅ General Guidelines:
All outfits must be modest and age-appropriate for elementary students
No weapons (real or fake)
No scary costumes, blood, or gore
No full-face masks or face coverings
Costumes must allow students to use the restroom independently
Outfits must not disrupt learning in the classroom (ex. student must be able to sit at a desk with no issue)
📌 Please keep in mind that the principal has the final say in determining what is appropriate. If you're unsure about a costume or outfit, it's probably best to choose something else.
Thank you for helping us keep these days fun, safe, and respectful for all students!

Attention FCA Members! Mrs. Thornsberry will be hosting the first Huddle of the year today, Tuesday, October 21st from 4-5 PM.

Each year, our students enjoy a fun and festive tradition of Trick-or-Treating through the hallways. We are accepting donations of individually wrapped candy to share with our school.
This year’s celebration will take place on Halloween, so please send in your donations before Friday, October 31st.
Thank you for helping us make Halloween a memorable and sweet experience for our Knights! 🍭🧡

As the heart of our school, Mrs. Rigazio brings passion, dedication, and a deep love for education to everything she does. She’s committed to ensuring every Knight grows and thrives in a safe, supportive, and engaging environment.
Thank you, Mrs. Rigazio, for all you do for our students, families, and staff. You lead with heart, strength, and the spirit of a true Knight! 🛡️⚔️

Today we shine a bright yellow 💛 spotlight on the one who keeps Nichols Elementary looking its best — Ms. Elaine! ⚔️
From early mornings to late afternoons, Ms. Elaine works tirelessly to keep our school clean, safe, and welcoming for every Knight who walks through our doors. Her hard work, warm heart, and can-do attitude don’t go unnoticed — she truly is the unsung hero of our halls!
Whether it’s mopping floors, fixing what’s broken, or sharing a smile with a student, Ms. Elaine does it all with pride and care. 💪🧽
Thank you, Ms. Elaine, for all you do to make Nichols shine! You help create the kind of environment where students can learn, grow, and thrive.

🎨🎶 Happy National Arts in Education Week! 🎶🎨
At Nichols Elementary, we know that the arts aren't just subjects — they are powerful tools for expression, connection, and growth. This week, we are proud to celebrate the impact of arts in our students’ lives and shine a spotlight on the heart of our Arts program: Mrs. Elizabeth Yates. 💫
Mrs. Yates is more than just an educator — she’s an inspiration. She brings creativity, kindness, and passion to every art and music lesson she teaches. Whether it's a paintbrush or a piano, Mrs. Yates helps our students discover their voices and express who they are in meaningful, beautiful ways.
Thank you, Mrs. Yates, for nurturing creativity, courage, and connection in every child you teach. You make Nichols Elementary a more vibrant, thoughtful place. 💛
