Our amazing third grade class wrapped up a cross-curricular project last week! In science, students learned about animal habitats and observed how living things survive in their environments. In reading, they chose a plant and an animal to research and explored the big question: “How do plants and animals help one another?”
To bring their learning to life, students became authors and illustrators, creating their own informational books. Friday, they proudly shared their work with our first graders, teaching them about habitats, plant-animal partnerships, and answering thoughtful questions during a Q&A session.
We are so proud of their curiosity, creativity, and leadership!

Today we came together to honor the brave men and women who have served our country. Fifth graders Skyler and Sophia R. led a beautiful ceremony reminding us all about gratitude and service.
A special thank-you to Mrs. Smith, one of our amazing teachers and a proud veteran, for sharing what it truly means to serve. And thank you to Mrs. Yates, Mrs. Ferrell’s fourth graders, and Ms. Overstreet’s fifth graders for their wonderful performance of our national anthem! 🎶

All outfits must be modest and age-appropriate for elementary students
No weapons (real or fake)
No scary costumes, blood, or gore
No full-face masks or face coverings
Costumes must allow students to use the restroom independently
Outfits must not disrupt learning in the classroom (ex. student must be able to sit at a desk with no issue)
📌 Please keep in mind that the principal has the final say in determining what is appropriate. If you're unsure about a costume or outfit, it's probably best to choose something else.

We were honored to welcome Dr. Bacon to NES today. It was a wonderful opportunity to showcase incredible learning happening across our school community everyday.
Second Grade Success Alert! 🚨
Mrs. Kimball's class successfully wrapped up their project about their favorite places, which included a fantastic display of map-making and opinion writing! Students practiced being Effective Communicators by speaking clearly, providing supporting details, and presenting their ideas with confidence.
We love watching them grow as writers and presenters! Great job second grade!
