Many Veterans were honored at Pleasant Grove Elementary representing the Army, Air Force, Navy, Coast Guard, Marines and one from the newest branch, the Space Force. Our oldest Veteran of the day, 103 year old Buford Wilson, received a standing ovation in the afternoon program. He was staff sergeant in the 93rd Ordinance Unit, U.S. Army during WWII, and served four years. He was in Sicily, Italy, France, Germany, Austria & North Africa. The 93rd Ordnance was unique because it was the first to ever travel with the front lines and fully service all equipment. As a result, members earned several combat ribbons. He also was one of six brothers serving in WWII—all safely came home, and he is the last one living.
USA Cares, a family and military support program whose mission is to provide post-9/11 military veterans, service members, and their families with emergency financial assistance and post-service skills, was presented a check for $1,279.80 that was raised from our "Hats off to Veterans Day" on Friday. Visit USAcares.org to find out more about the organization or make a donation.
Many tears were shed as the students performed America the Beautiful, led by fifth graders June Wasinger, Kadynn Smith, Rebekah Skaggs and Sadie Hall. Our student emcees for the program were Emma Bates and Jacob Newton. Veterans and their guests enjoyed a reception in the library and a photo with their Veteran that will be sent home with students. Thank you to the students, staff and especially our Veterans for making this day so special!

He met with SPLASH ticket winners, delivered Positive Office Referrals, monitored the cafeteria during lunch, finalized the eNews, and completed many Principal Pop-ins to reward positive behavior😊 Principal Watson even found time to enjoy Fun Friday with his third grade friends. He did a wonderful job as our Principal for the Day!

Bus 2129 has a sub bus this afternoon-YAY! Bus 806 will sub for Bus 2129 this afternoon. Thank you.

Thank you to the Grimes family for providing this nice basket of snacks and teas for our staff to enjoy! We appreciate your generosity!

Bus 2129 is not running this afternoon. Families must self-transport and remember car rider tags are required when picking up your child in the car rider line.

This friend helped me greet our classrooms this morning and did a great job. Thanks Brody!

We hope you can join us this evening at the Pumpkin Patch!
