Mrs. Carla Wilson continues her service with Bullitt County Public Schools as the new Principal of Freedom Elementary School.
Mrs. Wilson brings with her 28 years of experience in education, with 20 of those being in BCPS. She has experience in a variety of areas including time spent serving as a teacher, Instructional Coach, and a Kentucky Reading Project Instructor through the University of Louisville. Mrs. Wilson has a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education, two master’s degrees in Reading Instruction and School Administration, and is both a National Board Certified Teacher and PhD Candidate in Curriculum and Instruction.
Mrs. Wilson says, “I am honored to be selected as the principal of Freedom. I cannot wait to work alongside the staff, students, and their families as we make our school a great place to learn.”
Carla is happily married to her husband Matt. The couple has 2 children, Austin (Shelby) and Maddie (Patrick), and 3 beautiful grandchildren. In her free time, Carla loves to travel and spend time with her family.
