CBA Meeting 6

Bullitt County Public Schools' Community Accountability Steering Team met again on Wednesday evening to continue building the foundation of the district’s Community Based Accountability (CBA) system. The group (composed of students, families, staff, and community partners) spent time reviewing synthesized feedback on two previously discussed district pillars: Fiscal and Operational Care and Community Collaboration and Engagement.

Participants engaged in a collaborative discussion to ensure the district's interpretations of the group's expectations were clear and accurate. The meeting also marked an important milestone; the team began shaping the final two pillars of the CBA model: Engaged & Well-Rounded Students and Life Readiness.

The Engaged & Well-Rounded Students pillar highlights the importance of providing every student with opportunities to explore interests, build leadership skills, and participate in athletics, the arts, and extracurricular activities. The Life Readiness pillar ensures that BCPS graduates are equipped with the skills, certifications, and experiences they need to thrive in college, career, and life beyond the classroom.

Superintendent Dr. Jesse Bacon emphasized the value of the team's continued input as BCPS works to create an accountability system that reflects not just academic achievement, but the broader hopes and dreams of the Bullitt County community.

The meeting concluded with a discussion about next steps, as the district prepares to finalize the pillars and move toward implementation for the 2025-2026 school year.

"We are grateful for the passion and insights our community members bring to this work," Dr. Bacon shared. "Together, we are creating a model of accountability that is truly designed by and for our community."
