MW Street Sweeper

Mount Washington, KY – Bullitt East High School (BEHS) art students are proving that creativity, collaboration, and community pride can make a powerful impact... on wheels! In partnership with the City of Mount Washington, BEHS students designed a custom wrap for the city's new street sweeper, blending school spirit with a strong environmental message.

This real-world art project gave students the opportunity to learn how street sweepers help reduce pollution and protect local waterways. By combining artistic skills with environmental awareness, they created a visual reminder of the power of civic responsibility and creative problem-solving.

The student-designed sweeper was first unveiled on Thursday, May 8th during a drop-in event at BEHS, where students and staff saw the wrap up close. Then, the vehicle will made its public debut at the Mount Washington Spring Festival on Saturday, May 10th.

Special recognition goes to Seth Bishop (Junior) and Siarra Ricketts (Senior), whose design concepts served as key inspiration for the final look. Their work is a powerful example of what happens when young people are empowered to use their voices, and talents, for good.

This project exemplifies the BCPS Graduate Profile, with students acting as Innovative Problem Solvers (by developing creative solutions and applying feedback to a real-world challenge) and Community Contributors (using their talents to positively impact their city).

Mount Washington is cleaner and more colorful thanks to these exceptional BEHS Chargers. We can’t wait for the community to see it in action!
