Kevin & Dataseam

SHEPHERDSVILLE, KY – Bullitt County Public Schools (BCPS) is leveling up its digital infrastructure thanks to the recent efforts of Director of Technology Kevin Fugate.

Mr. Fugate recently joined an elite cohort of Kentucky K-12 technology professionals for an intensive, week-long training centered on advanced Apple enterprise technologies. This specialized program, developed by Dataseam, was designed specifically to address the complex, large-scale technology environments managed by Kentucky school districts.

The results of the training are a major win for BCPS students: by successfully completing the program, the cohort collectively earned $340,000 worth of high-performance Apple desktops for their respective districts.

The training wasn't just about hardware; it was about mastering the tools necessary to run a modern, efficient school district. Developed in concert with Kentucky’s top K-12 tech experts, the curriculum focused on:

  • Enterprise Management: Navigating the diverse and demanding technology environments unique to public education.

  • Advanced Support: Ensuring that Apple technologies are integrated seamlessly and securely across the district.

  • Sustainability: Building a tech infrastructure that can grow and adapt to future needs.

"Our goal is always to provide our students with the best tools possible to prepare them for the world beyond our doors," said Kevin Fugate. "This partnership with Dataseam allows us to stay at the cutting edge of enterprise technology while directly bringing high-powered resources into our classrooms at no additional cost to our local taxpayers."

Preparing the Future Workforce

The arrival of these advanced workstations opens the door to new and sophisticated learning opportunities. BCPS students will now have increased access to industry-standard equipment used in fields like:

  • Software Development and Coding

  • Digital Media and Graphic Design

  • Medical Research and Data Science (via the DataseamGrid)

By learning on professional-grade hardware, students gain a competitive edge as they transition into the workforce or higher education, aligning perfectly with the BCPS Graduate Profile of being "Innovative Problem Solvers."

A Dual Mission: Education and Research

The impact of these computers extends beyond the classroom. When not in use by students, the processing power of these new workstations is pooled into the DataseamGrid. This massive computing network is used by the University of Louisville’s Brown Cancer Center to accelerate research and drug discovery, making BCPS a vital participant in the fight against cancer.
