Bullitt County Public Schools is proud to celebrate a milestone achievement that reflects the district’s commitment to preparing students for success in a rapidly evolving, technology-driven world. Reese Fox, a senior at Bullitt East High School, has been named a 2026 Aspirations in Computing (AiC) Award Winner by the National Center for Women & Information Technology (NCWIT).
The NCWIT Aspirations in Computing Award honors students in grades 9 through 12 for their accomplishments and interests in computing and technology. Recipients are selected based on demonstrated aptitude and aspirations in computing, including their experience, related activities, leadership involvement, and plans for post-secondary education. Reese will be officially recognized at the Kentucky Chapter of the Computer Science Teachers Association’s Advocacy Dinner on March 17, 2026.
This national recognition highlights Reese’s individual excellence and the innovative learning environment fostered at Bullitt East and throughout BCPS. Her achievement embodies the district’s mission to inspire and equip students to succeed in life and reflects the Graduate Profile competencies that guide student growth across all schools.
A Future-Focused Pathway
Reese’s selection as an AiC Award Winner underscores her strength as both a Mastery Learner and an Innovative Problem Solver. Through rigorous coursework, computing-related experiences, and leadership engagement, she has demonstrated a deep commitment to expanding her knowledge and applying it in meaningful ways.
As a Mastery Learner, Reese has developed discipline-specific skills in computing while continuously refining her understanding through experience and exploration. The AiC award criteria recognize students who show interest, sustained dedication, and achievement in technology-related fields. Reese’s portfolio of work and forward-looking post-secondary plans reflect that sustained commitment.
Reese’s work also showcases the qualities of an Innovative Problem Solver. Technology education demands the ability to gather information, synthesize ideas, test solutions, and adapt approaches based on feedback. Reese’s accomplishments reflect the analytical thinking and creativity that are critical in today’s workforce.
Her recognition by NCWIT reflects BCPS’s commitment to embracing differences and expanding opportunities for all students. By encouraging diverse voices and perspectives in high-demand fields such as computer science, BCPS remains proactive and future-focused.
Leadership Beyond the Classroom
The AiC Award also considers leadership and engagement beyond coursework. Reese’s involvement in computing-related activities and her demonstrated aspirations for continued study in technology highlight her readiness for life beyond high school.
Through Shared Accountability, BCPS educators, families, and community partners work together to ensure students have access to pathways that match their passions and potential. Reese’s journey reflects the strength of those collaborative supports. Her teachers have created opportunities for authentic learning experiences, and she has embraced them with determination and initiative.
Her achievement sends a powerful message to younger students across Bullitt County: computing and technology fields are accessible, exciting, and filled with possibilities.
Moving Forward in Innovation
Bullitt County Public Schools continues to expand opportunities in STEM and technology education, ensuring students are equipped with the skills needed in a competitive, global economy. Reese’s recognition as a 2026 AiC Award Winner affirms that these efforts are making an impact.
