🎉 💪🏻 Talk about #MotivationMonday - Check out what one of our alums, Angela Swan, is up to these days...
Angela Swan completed her masonry track test with the Local 4 Union last school year as a senior from Bullitt East. She was identified as an extremely talented young person through her completion of a written test, a skills performance, and an interview. She is currently working with a union contractor, Snell, and is in the Local 4's Union Apprenticeship Program.
This program sent her to a "Women in the Trades" conference in Las Vegas last year and now, Angela has been invited to be a part of virtual roundtable called “Labor Women Who Lead”.
Talk about living out our Graduate Profile skills and our district's mission of being ready to succeed in life - Angela is exhibiting this each and every day! Congratulations, Angela!!

Bullitt Central and Bullitt ATC student Francisco Pagan provided a learning opportunity for teachers at the Bullitt ATC this morning. Teachers are creating and working with communications rubrics aligned with the BCPS graduate profile. Francisco shared his presentation with the teachers today to let us test out our rubric and model feedback for students. Francisco was able to share his presentation and receive feedback for improvement prior to presenting to the BCPS board of education April so they can see how the graduate profile is coming to life for teachers and students.

Women in the Trades:
2. Masonry: 2022 ATC Masonry and overall Student of the Year: Angela Swan
Angela graduated from Bullitt East High School in 2022 and spent three years in our Masonry Program. Angela earned her NCCER Core, NCCER Masonry Level 1, NCCER Masonry Level 2, and KYTrack Masonry Certifications. The KYTrack in masonry consists of a written exam, performance task, and a job interview with local union representatives. Anglea contacted us on August, 10th to let us know that she will be an official apprentice bricklayer and a member of the union. She will be working for Schnell contractors that has a project in downtown Louisville doing restoration work on one of the Humana buildings. The union is also going to send Angela on a weekend trip to Los Vegas for a Trade Women's Conference. She is looking forward to coming back to the ATC and visiting with our students.

Welding: 2021 ATC Welding and overall Student of the Year: Emmalea Earle
Emmalea graduated from Bullitt Central High School in 2021 with her AWS 2F certification in welding. Emmalea also served as the Vice President of SKillsUSA. Upon graduation Emmalea applied and obtained employment at MHS (Material Handling Systems). The HR department commented that Emmalea had a near perfect score on their written welding test but were really surprised at her welding performance test. Emmalea’s skill demonstrated that she exceeded the level of some of the current MHS employees and she started at Tier 2 with a higher salary. Emmalea went with MHS HR employees to local trade schools and colleges to recruit more students.
