Each of our third grade classes were instructed by recycling experts from Tri-Arrows Aluminum on the recycling process and what happens with all the cans that have been brought in to our school for the 2 Million Cans Contest. The presentation included quick videos of the manufacturing machines used during the recycling process, hands on learning with candy to represent the different forms/shapes of the pure aluminum throughout various steps in the process and a summary sheet for future reference as the students begin to build a project to model their learning. We appreciate the time and knowledge from the recycling experts as they helped our students become mastery learners.
Before our visitors left, they shared some very exciting news!!
The school has now collected 60K aluminum cans which moved us down the road and earned each 3rd grader a punch balloon!! We love recycling! ❤️♻️

A huge thank you to our amazing school counselor, Mrs. Franklin! Your kindness, dedication, and support make a world of difference for our students and staff. From offering a listening ear to helping students navigate challenges, you go above and beyond every day. We appreciate all that you do to create a positive and caring school environment!

Becky, a former MWES student, noticed a recycling Facebook post from the school. She reached out to see how she could help and WOW🤩 - when she said she had cans, she was not kidding. When we went to pick them up there was about 45 bags! ♻️Thanks you so much for contacting us and filling up our bin. We have a great community!
Remember, we also have the opportunity for drop-off of aluminum beverage cans at the recycling trailer located at the parking lot of the old Rite Aid.

Makenzie is a can crushing queen! She worked magic and turned 3 bags in to 1 by smashing them flat. This will make room for many more to be brought in. To warm up she helped gather the cans inside as well. She worked as hard to earn the points to be my helper! We always have a great time!

Mrs. Bieckert had over 20 students participate in chess on Saturday and their accomplishments varied from 25th place to 3rd place. K-1 and K-3 placed top three in the county and many other students earned medals and trophies too for individual. We are so proud of these kids and all their hard work.
