This girl was doing an amazing job transitioning to the lunchroom. She had hands to self, a quiet voice and walking feet. She was excelling at all the expectations and earned a "caught you coin" to spend at the book vending machine. Way to go Elaynah!

Yeah- that bus is moving on down the road. It will stop at 45k cans and with all your help with fly right on to 60k cans. The 3rd grade team celebrated this benchmark with pencil toppers provided by our partnership with Tri-Arrows Aluminum. They have helped make collecting cans even more exciting! The 3rd grade says THANKS to all who have supported their contest . We are just under a 1/3 of the way from our goal. Keep bringing in your cans and asking family and friends to save their cans too!

It was another great time today celebrating with the Mrs. Perry's class. They were the 3rd grade class with the highest percentage of growth on the iReady assessment. We are so proud of all their hard work and effort!! Sure was a good time for the admin and kiddos!

This smile shows how proud Kellen is for earning a "caught you coin"! He was standing quietly and waiting patiently as he was in line for his bus. So today he had the chance to pick out a book from the book vending machine. Way to go!!

Another great day celebrating with Mrs. Cooper's class. They worked hard to be focused and give their best effort on the iReady assessment. It all paid off as they had the highest percentage of growth. They were so excited and had lots of fun with the admin!

Savannah was doing an amazing job today following the expectations while washing her hands. She was making great choices even when no one was watching. That says so much about her use of self-control to do the right thing!! She should be so proud. And she earned a "caught you coin" to shop in the book vending machine.

Cans! Cans! Thanks to those who remembered to bring them today. With our first day back moving multiple times you have one last opportunity to bring in cans for a prize. Bring cans in tomorrow, Tuesday, January 13th and earn a prize. Hopefully the tarps on the bin will be thawed out.

The New Year has been a time to continue with our recycling efforts. The bin is all set and ready. Thanks to St. Francis Xavier for allowing us to set up bins at their NYE event and collecting cans. Thanks to our family and friends who saved their cans which were picked up or dropped at school. This is a very exciting start to 2025!
Fact: Aluminum Cans are the Most Recycled beverage container. The last picture is what happens to your recycled cans at the scrapyard which are then sold to aluminum manufactures and eventually sent back onto the shelf for purchase.
Remember any student bringing cans on Wednesday(or the first day back) gets a prize!

Please see the message below from BCPS!

Let's ring in the new year, 2025, by supporting our recycling contest and saving those empty aluminum beverage cans. Within the next 4 months, we need to collect just over 100K cans. This means we need to collect no less than 25K cans a month. So please save your cans and spread the word to all those you know, such as your work place or other contacts. Please reach out to Mrs. Adams if you need assistance in getting the cans picked up. We will celebrate the new year by giving any student who brings in cans on January 7th (first day back) a prize! Happy New Year!

The second bin was picked up and we had over 20,000 cans. This brings our total to 44,555 cans. This is only 500 cans from our next benchmark on the road. But leaves a lot of work to be done by April when the contest ends. We need your help. While at your family and friend get togethers this holiday season collect those empty aluminum beverage cans and bring them to school. Your Can Counts!!

Carter is a 2 time buyer of Adventures with Adams. Today he chose to play a game of UNO and a snack along with a selfie with the elf. He is a great kid and I am happy he chose to spend his points on this item!!

Rowan was a can smashing machine. She used the can crusher for a few and her foot for the others. It was a fun time that we ended with a selfie with the elf. Glad you chose to spend your earned points this way!!
