Here are a few pics of our recycling heroes collecting cans in the Autumn Glen neighborhood and bringing them to school. Thanks to Erin and Thomas and family for providing this service to support or Million Can Contest efforts! Great haul from our neighborhood today! Please reach out to MWES if you have aluminum beverage cans and need them picked up! ♻️♻️♻️

Dear Families,

This memo is a reminder of our morning car rider procedures to help ensure a smooth and safe arrival for all students and staff.

Morning drop-off for car riders is 8:30–8:55 a.m. School doors close promptly at 8:55 a.m. To allow the final cars to enter and students to safely make it into the building, the large “Oops, You’re Late” sign is turned at 8:54 a.m.

If you arrive near this time, please be mindful and turn around to enter the front circle to drop your child off until 9:00 a.m. After 9:00 a.m., families must walk into the school and sign their student in for the day.

Additionally, please remain alert to the staff member holding the STOP sign in the parking lot. If the sign is turned to STOP, you must stop immediately, as parking lot traffic is exiting at that time.

Thank you for your cooperation, attentiveness, and continued support in helping us keep our arrival procedures safe for everyone.

Another great day of Adventures with Adams. Lincoln's positive choices earned him a chance to make a creature he named, Spiky. While Austin used his well deserved points to select building a pot of flowers. Both of these boys should be proud of what they achieved with earning points and completing a Lego challenge!!

Thank you to our FRC for scheduling a visit from the Science Center! As a school, we had the opportunity to enjoy Ion Jones and the Lost Castle of Chemistry. Students experienced exciting chemistry demonstrations—like creating fireballs and cola geysers—while learning about elements, compounds, and chemical reactions. It was a fun, engaging, and memorable way to bring chemistry to life! 🧪🔥✨

Exciting news! 🎉 We are excited to announce an expansion of the MWES recycling of aluminum beverage can efforts. The Mt. Washington Kroger has graciously allowed for us to place 2 bins at their store. One is placed at the left entrance and the other can be found near the cashiers station for your convenience. Simply place your bag of cans in either bin and they will contribute to our 3rd graders can contest. A big Thank You to Republic Services for supplying the recycling bins. Just another example of community teamwork and a great opportunity for recycling more cans!! Please spread the word. ♻️♻️♻️ #MillionCansContest

It was a great day to be a MWES 3rd grader. With all the community help and the support of Tri-Arrows aluminum they reached the next benchmark of 45,000 cans recycled! Each student chose a pencil topper to celebrate this accomplishment. We love all the support and encourage everyone to send in their empty aluminum beverage cans. Our goal of 150,000 cans is a distance away. We can do it!! ♻️♻️💪 #MillionCansContest

Emma was today's Adventure with Adams. The Lego kit she chose sure made it a challenge. She was so confident she would build the potted flower and with a smile 😊 on her face the entire time. It was her fun attitude that made our adventure super enjoyable!!

Adventures with Adams led to the creation of Lego masterpieces. Anni Kate persevered to create a beautiful flower helping us to think spring. Raylan designed a penguin she named Gus by following the step by step directions. Both girls were super fun and exciting to share time with today!
